I built SOPStarter to collect as little as possible. This is everything it does with your data.
Templates
The SOP templates work in your browser. What you type into a template and what you download never leaves your device.
The generator
When you use the generator, the text you enter in its form is sent to my server, and my server sends it on to Anthropic, the company that runs the Claude model that writes the draft. Anthropic handles that text under its own privacy policy. Please do not put personal details, passwords or confidential information in the form.
I do not keep a copy of that text or of the draft. The server writes one log line for each run with the model name, the token counts and the cost, and none of your text. The only thing I keep is a count of how many runs you have used today.
Cookies and run counters
The generator sets one cookie, named tool_uid, an anonymous identifier that I use to count your free runs each day. It lasts one year. It holds no name, email or other personal detail. I also keep a salted one-way hash of your IP address next to the count, so one person cannot use up the free runs by clearing cookies. I cannot get your IP address back from the hash.
The site sets no other cookies, and analytics sets none.
Analytics
Analytics run only if you accept. Until you do, the analytics library is not loaded and your browser sends nothing to my analytics server.
If you accept, I count page views, which tool you used (the generator, or which template you downloaded) and clicks from this site to my other sites. That is all an event holds, together with the page address and title and the name of this site. It never holds what you type into the generator, the draft, or the contents of a template.
I run the analytics myself, on my own OpenPanel instance at op-api.appsbyluke.com, so no analytics company receives it. It uses no cookie and writes nothing to your browser storage. If you withdraw your consent, it stops at once.
Advertising and third parties
There is no advertising and no tracking on this site. Your browser makes requests to this site, and to my analytics server only if you accept analytics. The generator is the one place where text leaves my server, to Anthropic, as described above.
